Things to consider when choosing an affiliate program:
a) Is it easy to get accepted? Some programs require you to have a website.
b) What are the payouts? Over 10% is a must in my book. the more the better. Search and you can find some that pay 70-80%.
c) How do they pay? Paypal? Check? ,only check is a non-starter
d) Do they allow YouTube promotions? Some do, a few don’t.

The correct way to do Keyword Research
We need to find what keyword phrase we are going to target.
The goal is to find keywords that have YouTube results on the first page of Google. If you optimize your video around a keyword that doesn’t have any video results in Google, you’ll ONLY get traffic from people searching on YouTube.
But if you optimize for Video Keywords, you’ll also get targeted traffic to your video directly from Google’s first page. Once you’ve found a Video Keyword, you need to check if there’s enough search volume for that keyword.
You don’t need to go after keywords with huge search volumes.
At least 300 searches per month should suffice.
First of all, I need to find out more about the product and so I searched in YouTube and also added the trigger word ‘video’ .

e) Use trigger words such as video at the end of a phrase to see if that gets any Youtube videos appearing on page 1 of Google. Yes is good.
f) Go to Google.com and type your keyword. If there are No ads, then forget that phrase. Ads tell you that there is money to be made with the keyword phrase in question.
g) While there are no hard and fast rules, when you go to the Google Keyword Planner. Aim for about least 3000 monthly searches.
Extra Tip : If you are promoting Amazon products, try and search for the product serial number if they have one and use that in your keyword phrase too.
Video Espionage
Before we make the video we need to do one thing and check out the competition.
A few ways we can do this. Lets use the Example Keyword : Best Online Japanese Courses . If we are going to make a video for this offer, then we need to see what the top videos are like in the search engines.
We can check manually and by using A cool website called ‘Social blade’
Social Blade checks Youtube stats, though the site can be slightly temperamental.
First go to Youtube and type in the keyword you are considering:
Take that channel name and search for it in Social blade.
These stats tell me that for this keyword, I’ll almost never outrank this channel and video.
These guys are, maybe not intentionally, pros. They have an insane amount of videos, subscribers and views (but later I’ll show you how we can ethically steal some traffic from such channels).

While we may not outrank it, it shows us that this video is 9:26 long.
So, we need to make a video about that long if we want to go after this keyword as the public has shown this is this is a popular video.. If you can’t beat em, join em as they say.
One of the major factors in ranking is viewing time so longer videos tend to do well.
After all this research ,and seeing the competition, I’d probably not target the phrase’ Best Online Japanese Video Course’ but maybe another variant.
As you can see, Keyword research is vital and can take time.
Anyhow, once we DO have a keyword phrase, we create the video and we are going to be using Google Hangouts.
After deciding that this keyword phrase was too tough, I have gone after the angle of promoting a diabetes offer.
The focus was on how type 2 symptoms can be alleviated by taking Ceylon Cinnamon and I was promoting a Clickbank offer via a CPA network.
Video Creation
Longer videos rank better.
Longer videos outperform shorter videos in YouTube and Google search.
That said, one technique is to see how long the highest ranking video is for your keyword phrase, and mimic that length.

Tips for video creation
Title:
While you must have your keyword in your title, also make it intriguing to the visitor.
So, rather than just ‘Nordstrom Gift Card review’, you could say something like ‘Nordstrom Gift Card review | ** Why You need to know the truth**’
A unique title can often mean more clicks and views for you. Words such as: Exposed ,The Truth ,Must watch ,Discover ,Learn
All these words can be added to add to the intrigue.
NEVER use the word ‘scam’ in your title as it makes you look like an idiot. Besides, all those that do use the word ‘scam’ end op actually promoting the product anyways. To me, adding that latter part in will get the click and the view, the video is then supposed to do the rest.
Description:
Write a sufficient description. Go for 300 words. Include your keyword at least 4 times.
Also, make sure the first line is your keyword and the second line is any URL you want the viewer to click on.
To track the number of clicks you can use Pretty Links Lite if you have a WordPress site. If not, use bit.ly to cloak your link and to track how many folks click on it. It’s a free service
Added TIP: Make sure that you include the actual video link inside the description AND your channel Link too.
Remove the ‘s’ from the https so it becomes http
Google loves Google hangouts.
And why wouldn’t they? Hangouts are Google’s baby and as they own YouTube too, the power of them combined is scary.

What are Google Hangouts?
Put simply, they are a free service provided by Google that allow you to have hangouts (conversations) with up to 10 participants at any one time.
One of the key features of this service is termed ‘Hangouts on Air’ which allows you to broadcast live and these are accessible to anyone.
It is this feature that we will be covering in this Post.
Why use them?
They are simple to use, and once done, Google will automatically upload them to your connected YouTube channel :
a) Free screen recording. These are great for product reviews, offer reviews (CPA) and of course trainings that you want to provide for anyone.
Now, while they do not have all the functionality of Camtasia (which is pricey), they do more than enough for you to create a decent quality video.
b) There are no time restrictions. 30 seconds? Ok. 2 hours..No problems.
c) They are automatically uploaded to your YouTube channel which of course, saves you time and hassle. You can still go in and edit them once they are uploaded too.
d) They Rank baby. Google owns G+ hangouts and they own YouTube too, so it is natural that they favour your hangout recordings. Of course, you can still do some SEO (and you should) but the fact that they automatically have that boost is a beautiful thing.

Creating Google Hangouts (VIDEO)
Thumbnail Frenzy
First of all, what are thumbnails?
They Are the Images That Appear next to the video like this :
By default, YouTube picks one .These are often pretty bland.
The first one is a custom one and these will make your video stand out.
You want as many clicks as possible so grab an image that you have or one that you have the rights to on Google Images and crop it.
Have a resolution of 1280×720 (with minimum width of 640 pixels).
Be uploaded in image formats such as .JPG, .GIF, .BMP, or .PNG.
Remain under the 2MB limit.
Try to use a 16:9 aspect ratio as it’s the most used in YouTube players and previews. Choose one that your ideal prospect would find attractive and that stands out.
Ugly images work well for some reason. A good thumbnail that ‘speaks’ to the viewer will, if done right, attract them to click.
A good engaging video will mean they watch it fully.
This will boost your SEO.
If you aren’t any good at creating images like me, just use the Google Advanced image search system.

A free tool is Gimp. I do not use this but there are a ton of basic tutorials on the web.
Video optimization
Ok…So Our video is made and as we made it on Google Hangouts, it is already uploaded to YouTube with a title and description (as shown in the video I made for you earlier).
No we need to do a few things. Tags and Annotations.
I have 2 ninja ‘tag’ tips:
a) In ALL videos, add a ‘gobbledegook tag’. What this will do is connect ALL YOUR videos together and prevent others from getting your traffic. Make sure you use the same ‘nonsensical’ tag each time
b) Add the YouTube Channel name of the most viewed video for the keyword you are targeting to ‘Piggy-back’ off of their traffic. This is especially good if the #1 video has a ton of views and looks impossible to budge.
That way, you will appear in the right hand column when the top ranked video is being viewed. If you have an attractive thumbnail and title, you can grab the viewer’s attention and perhaps get them to click on your video.
Step 5 – Annotations
One thing to know about annotations is that they are not viewable on mobile devices.
To help with the SEO of your video and your channel you can:
a) Link to one of your channels
b) Link to another video
c) Tell them to leave a comment
d) Use the subscribe option
More subscribers will help you rank so build up your subscriber base. To see how you can put an annotation inside your video and redirect it anywhere on the Internet, here’s a video I made that has gone semi-viral it seems.
Transcriptions
YouTube does a crappy job of transcribing your video. It is, for the main part, nonsensical. For $5, you can pay someone to write you an accurate transcript that you can then upload (should you wish). I do not bother with this myself. But maybe I should start?
What to do immediately after you upload
Share on all the social media platforms. Make a basic profile if there are any that you are unable to share on.
For Blogger, make sure you add a meta-tag below the video.
For Facebook, if you don’t want to share your video on your wall, there’s a little trick you can do
Each time you share put your bitly.com link to the affiliate offer on each shared page. You will want to paste your affiliate link especially on the blogger site and your shared Facebook page so that when a visitor clicks on your link, they will be taken straight to it
RSS Feeds
Then, you want to submit your video to the RSS Feeds You can submit the RSS feed for each video.

To get some eyeballs on your video, there are a few steps to take:
a) Watch it all the way through yourself first
b) Ask friends to view it and like it (ensure they watch it all the way through).
c) Notify your list if you have one.
d) Ask friends, your list and viewers to like and comment.
YouTube has caught onto fake views. That’s why I don’t recommend using a service on Fiverr to pump up your view count.
Ninja Tip: Use Quora. This is a Q&A site and has a top 500 Alexa ranking. If your video offers a solution to a problem that folk are having, then you can put your YouTube link there (but make sure you stick to YouTube) Also, the views you get will be very high retention as they are targeting folk with a specific problem.
Technique for Boosting Shares and Embeds
Do you have a blog? If so, then embed your video there but also add a little unique text

You can always upload your video to other video sharing platforms such as Vimeo and Daily Motion. Ensure you include your YouTube link
Extra Push
Once you begin to make a bunch of videos, you can use Playlists.
This is when you bunch related videos together. this enhances the viewer experience and as such, YouTube gives weight to playlisted videos.
So, for example, If you uncover 4-5 video keyword phrases that you want to make videos for, once they are all made and optimized, link them together in a playlist.

Be careful One mistake I see many people making when trying to outsource their video SEO is to do too much at one time. By that, I mean people will head over to Fiverr.com and buy two or three gigs at once.
